Artifical Grass
Like many things in life, something that seems straight forward, is anything but.
Laying artificial grass is very similar to laying a drive. You need a good solid base of Type 1 over a quality weed suppressant and then a layer of washed grit, our preference is 6mm limestone.
We are an Approved Namgrass installer
Limestone whilst a little more expensive allows liquid to drain more freely, whether that be rain or urine from animals. It also has the benefit of not holding onto odours like grit. Many installers use kiln dried sand to weigh the grass down once installed. We however, favour the secure tacking method using clips and nails, so the grass can be hoovered or blown with a leaf blower.
Namgrass are probably the number 1 local supplier, being based in New Milton. They are however, a national company with contracts to supply many larger companies, such as Travis Perkins, They have a vast array of grasses to suit all tastes and situations, from shorter sports grasses to commercial applications to domestic applications. There are a number of alternatives on the market and many at lower prices, but they are cheap for a reason. Our representative will be happy show you the difference and you don’t need to be an expert to see it!
